April 2014 meeting

A Civilian Sharpshooter for the Confederacy Jack watched the opposing armies come to his beautiful “land „tween the rivers” and helped the military on both sides with aid and information, trying
maintain his neutrality. Then, without warning, the war converted Jack into an instrument of cold and calculating vengeance!

On April 22, 2014, between 6:00 pm. and 8:00 p.m., Rick and Pam Tenan will reveal the story. The Northampton Historical Soci-ety meets at the “Old Town Hall” next the fire station at the corner of West Bath and Northampton Roads. Find out what happened at the Bubbling Springs plantation and why Jack Hinson spent much of the war as a hunted civilian bearing a military bounty. Learn why the names of Jack and Elisabeth Hinson are once again spoken by people with an interest in the American Civil War!

Light refreshments will be served. This will be a family friendly event, so bring the kids.
